Trouble At Inter As Handanovic Sounds Like He Is Leaving

handanovich-interSamir Handanovic post-match criticism of his teammates sounded very much like someone who has already decided that he will be playing elsewhere next season.

“I already said our objective was third place. We are fourth and we are where we deserve to be. The table tells the truth, we just have to accept it,” the Slovenia international told Sky Sport Italia and Mediaset Premium.

“I don’t know why we struggle to hold on to leads. I have to think as a goalkeeper of how to improve my own role and it’s tough enough being a ‘keeper as it is.

“Those in front of me and the Coach have to think about how to improve their game. Once again today we created problems for ourselves and almost conceded an equaliser.”

Handanovic already suggested he could reconsider his future after failing to qualify for the Champions League. Could this be his last game at San Siro?

“I have a contract, but you never can tell in football. The Champions League was my objective, I’ve said that before. The future? I don’t know, I’ll evaluate everything.”

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Handanovic is being linked to the likes of Barcelona, Manchester City, and Chelsea, with Chelsea the early favorite to land him as they are believed to be looking for a replacement for Thibaut Courtois.

So who could Inter sign to replace Handanovic? Three names being mentioned are Paris Saint-Germain’s Salvatore Sirigu, Atalanta’s Marco Sportiello and Genoa’s Perin.

Perin is apparently Coach Roberto Mancini’s preferred candidate. His recent injury means he wouldn’t be back until perhaps a month or two into next season, but it should also have lowered the player’s cost.

Do you think Handanovic will be sold this summer? If yes, who do yo think replaces him?
