Leonardo will start his new adventure with Inter Milan on Thursday, January 6 in the most difficult way as not only they will be playing against one of the strongest team in Serie A this season, Napoli, the Nerazzurri are still without some important players for the game.
According to the latest reports from Italy, in the upcoming match against the Partenopei, the recent World Club Cup Champions still being forced to play without Julio Cesar, Wesley Sneijder and Samuel Eto’o.
Cesar and Sneijder are both out because of injury while Eto’s is still facing his match bans because of misconduct on the pitch in a game against Chievo just before the winter break last year. This absentees, especially the Brazilian goalkeeper is surely something that Leonardo didn’t want to happen considering that the Selecao number one has just recovered from a back injury which forced him to miss few matches just before the break.
The keeper did managed to play in the Club World Club Cub last December and performed some nice saves that helped Inter easing their way to win the trophy in the end, despite having just recovered few weeks before the competition started. Reports claim that Cesar picked up a light muscle strain on Inter’s latest training which pretty much rules out any chance of the shot stopper to play against Napoli, as the match is just a day away.
Cesar’s absence could definitely be vital for Inter’s opportunity in winning against Napoli as the Partenopei possessed a fierce attacking force especially on Edinson Cavani, who is currently leading the top scorer table in Serie A. Moreover, with Sneijder and Eto’o are also unavailable, the defense sector might be the key for the Nerazzurri in that game as their attacking force won’t probably be as strong as their potential.
This kind of problems will give Leonardo a stressful time in his start as the new Inter coach, as not only he doesn’t seem to have enough time in preparing his team with the short break that the team had this winter. Even without the absentees the match against Napoli will still be a tough task for the former Ac Milan coach, now with important players are still out, the task for the Brazilian in making a good impression on his first game surely becomes a higher mountain to climb.
