The Rome Derby will obviously be the most important agenda for many Serie A fans this weekend but unfortunately the important encounter is set to be missed by important players from both clubs.
According to Roma’s official site, Totti’s condition is not getting any better after picking up an injury during Giallorossi’s last league game against Atalanta. The latest medical test from the capital club revealed that their captain still needs to continue his rehabilitation work for about a week before having another check up next week, a statement which pretty much closed down the veteran’s chance in playing this weekend.
“After the tests performed this morning at Trigoria, Totti continues his rehabilitative work of physiotherapy and pool exercises. Over the next few days he will begin working in the gym. Another test to evaluate the course of the injury is expected next week,” read a statement on Roma’s official site
Meanwhile, Klose’s condition is reportedly a bit better than Totti as Lazio haven’t really confirmed the German international absentees for the weekend match, although his condition will be monitored in the next 48 hours before further decision can be made. The veteran striker was forced to leave his national team’s training camp before German’s match against Belgium on Tuesday, and results from the Bianocelesti’s medical team revealed that Klose picked up a small knee sprain.
The former Bayern Munich star will undergo a therapy starting from Wednesday and the decision regarding the player’s availability for the weekend big match can only be decided after 48 hours. Looking at the injury, it seems that Klose might be joining Totti in watching the big clash from the stands, although there’s always a chance that the German international might recover just in time.
Klose returned overnight from the Germany camp, At lunchtime he went to the Paidea clinic accompanied by the club doctors and underwent specialist tests. These confirmed the presence of a small sprain in advanced state of healing on the internal collateral ligament of the left knee. From this afternoon he will undergo therapy and, as for Sunday’s game, his condition will be evaluated over the next 48 hours,” read a statement from Lazio’s official site.
