Being strongly rumored to leave Inter Milan for Manchester United in the summer, Wesley Sneijder, stayed with the Italian clubs and seemed eager to prove that he still enjoys his time with the Nerazzurri especially after stating his dream to win something again with the Italian giant.
Speaking during the current international break, Sneijder stated that although he has pretty much won everything at club level, getting another tropthies with Inter is still one of his goals aside from taking his country into glory.
“When I saw Patrick Kluivert lift the Champions League with Ajax, I said to myself: ‘I want that too. Thanks to Inter, I achieved that wish. I have managed all my objectives at club level and now want to win with Holland, but obviously I want to win with Inter again,” Sneijder stated. “Winning trophies is something you never get accustomed to
The Dutchman was very close to leave Inter this summer especially when previous coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, can’t seem to fit the player’s characteristic into the coach’s 3-4-3 tactic, causing all sort of problems for the club. Unfortunately, under Ranieri, just when things starts to look better for Sneijder, the former Real Madrid player picked up an injury which has ruled him out for couple of the Nerazzurri’s latest matches, including the fashion capital side’s last league defeat in the hands of Napoli.
There’s a good news though for Inter Milan’s fans as Sneijder is possibly fit enough to take on the pitch again right after the international break and lead the Nerazzurri’s midfield in trying to regain their form again in the league. So far, both Inter and also their city rival, Ac Milan have oddly had a poor start in their season, which is pretty surprising considering the quality that the two Milanese have in Serie A. Injuries have been a pretty similar issues for both fashion capital sides, although Inter might actually have more problem regarding their coaching department instead.
