Serie A 2012-13 Fixture List Released

The Serie A 2012-13 fixtures have been finally released and the defending champions Juventus will begin defence of their title at home to Parma on 25 August.

There will be four breaks on September 9, October 14, December 30 and March 24, and the pre-Christmas round is on December 23. In addition there will be midweek rounds are on Wednesday September 26, October 31 and May 8.

Waiting for all the matches to be released but so far the first Milan derby will take place on 7 October, the first Derby d’Italia on 4 November and the first Rome derby on 11 November.

The ink was barely dry on fixture list before Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis complaining about Napoli’s fixture list.

“The final round looks like it was made for Juventus and Milan.”

De Laurentiis famously stormed out of the ceremony last year when he was furious at the big games Napoli had to face near to their Champions League commitments.

“There’s nothing except mistakes. Someone always gets involved and then one has to ask ‘what is behind these calendars?’

“The last round ought to be more balanced for everyone. It is going to be interesting, but unbalanced.

“It’s like there is one class, then the rest have to put up with more and more things. In life I have always seen the glass half-empty.”
