Fiorentina say that striker Giuseppe Rossi is recovering well from a knee injury.
The Italy international, who underwent keyhole knee surgery in the United States in September, is out of action until the new year.
A statement from Fiorentina read: “Fiorentina announces that Giuseppe Rossi underwent today (Tuesday) a check up with Professor Singleton in Vail (Colorado).
“The visit showed a correct evolution of meniscal suture.
“The increase in gravity loads will be gradual until the next check up, which will be carried out in the next three to four weeks, and at the end of this period, the player will return to Florence.”
The 27-year-old had already suffered two serious knee injuries in the past in the same limb and spent four months on the sidelines with a knee problem last season.
Injuries have limited to just 22 league appearances since joining La Viola from Spanish side Villarreal in January 2013.
