According to Turkish media outlet Haberler.com, Lazio have lodged a €10m (£7.8m) bid for Fenerbahce striker Robin van Persie.
Van Persie, who turns 33 in August, has struggled to establish a regular place in the Fenerbahce starting XI since joining from Manchester United last summer and the Serie A side are looking to take advantage of the Netherlands international’s unsettled situation.
Reportedly, the whole van Persie family is in favor of the move with his wife, Bouchra, said to be very interested in moving to Rome.
The biggest hurdle for Lazio to overcome here is RVPs wages which are said to be €5m (£3.9m) per year wages, which far outstrips what Lazio are paying any of their current squad.
But if a compromise can be reached on the wages, then Lazio would be getting a striker who had the best strike rate (a goal every 114.5 mins) of any player who scored at least 10 goals in the Turkish Super Lig last season.
What do you think of the move? Would Robin van Persie be a good signing for Lazio
