The Portugal international spent the season on loan at Sporting Lisbon with and enjoyed a decent season that included four goals in the Champions League.
Despite the 28-year-old proving he still has something to offer, it’s understood that Nani does not figure in Louis van Gaal’s plans for next season. The Dutchman already has many options in wide areas, with Ashley Young enjoying a particularly impressive season and Angel Di Maria expected to improve next term.
A permanent switch to Sporting Lisbon seemed the obvious next step for Nani, however reports in Portugal suggest he will say his goodbyes to fans of the side that finished third in the Primeira Liga during a signing session today.
One of the reasons that Sporting is not interested in taking Nani is his £100,000 a week wages, If he is moving to Inter, then I expect him to be taking a sizable paycut as Inter cannot afford that sort of money for Nani.
Inter boss Robert Mancini has been desperate to add to real wingers to his side, and he retools the squad after taking over from Walter Mazzarri last year.
