According to FutebolFinance a website dealing with money matters pertaining to the sport, Tottenham Hotspurs Gareth Bale is the 9th most valuable youngster in the world this year.
Valued at between 10.5 and 16.5 million Euros, Inter chief Massimo Moratti in his own words did make the right decision not ‘to go crazy’ in trying to sign Bale.
“Bale? For sure he did well both in Milan and in London, but I already knew him,” Moratti said. “Yes, he did some great things, but we will not go crazy to sign him.”
The headlines on the papers these past few days have paid glowing tribute to Bale’s performance. Gazetto Dello Sport stated that he “destroyed” Maicon while Spain sports daily Marca med his performance as ‘magical’.
Bale however earlier this season signed a new 4 year contract and only just recently committed his future to the club saying that he would like to emulate Ryan Giggs.
“He’s shown, ever since he made his debut, what a good player and what a good person he is for football,” Bale said. “He’s an amazing person to follow and hopefully I can come a little bit near him.
“It’s obviously nice to get people talking about you, saying nice things. But I know I have to keep working hard and keep improving and that’s all I want to do.”
Speaking about the recent rumours, Bale said that it was to be expected by every player who performs well.
“I’m not sure what all the fuss is about, it’s a bit surreal. Every footballer knows it comes with the game if you’re doing well. It’s kind of nice. Being viewed as a ‘hot property’ does not make me feel any different than I have been feeling.”
