Mancini Out Frank De Boer In At Inter

Roberto-Mancini-IMFCFormer Ajax boss Frank De Boer is the new Inter Milan manager replacing Roberto Mancini who left by “mutual consent” after turning down a new three-year contract extension by Suning that was heavily performance based.

Inter president Erick Thohir and Chief Executive Officer Michael Bolingbroke have turned to former Ajax Coach Frank De Boer to get the Nerazzurri back into the Champions League.

So with less than two weeks until Inter open the new Serie A season away to Chievo, what can Inter fans expect to see from De Boer?

His Ajax teams were known to be strong defensively, something that is badly needed at a club that has conceded 10 goals in its last two preseason matches.

From a formation standpoint De Boer has used both 4-3-3 formation and 4-2-3-1 which should be an easier transition for the players.

While Mancini solidified Inter after the revolving doors of managers post Mourinho, the style of football was heavily criticized by Nerazzurri fans as being boring.

Under Mancini, if Inter went one-nil up, the tactic was to see out the game and preserve that score. Under De Boer, Inter could be expected to go in search of a second goal.

What do you think of the hiring?
