The Premier League side are looking to add some attacking impetus to their lineup and were heavily linked with the Brazilian midfielder in the summer but Lazio resisted all proposals for their young talent and extended his contract to 2020.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Lazio still want €60m for Felipe Anderson (£44.1m), but are prepared to negotiate. Considering that the midfielder has a £35m buyout clause (€47.5m), expect that be the final price. Considering that Lazio paid just €7.8 million for Anderson when they signed him from Santos in 2013, they stand to make a massive profit on the player.
Anderson enjoyed a breakout season in 2014/15 scoring 11 goals and adding 10 assist in 37 appearances in all competitions. But he can be infuriatingly inconsistent.
It is worth noting that last season all 11 goals and nine of the assists were all within a streak of just 15 games between December 2014 and April 2015.
There has been a similar pattern this campaign, as all five goals have been crammed in a five-week period between September and October.
