Klose Reveals Retirement Plan

Lazio vs AS RomaAnnouncing retirement plan seems to be the new trend for experienced players in Serie A as after Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Antonio Cassano revealed their future, it’s Miroslav Klose time to share the same news.

Speaking after becoming a protagonist for Lazio’s victory against As Roma in the Rome Derby, Klose revealed that his intention is to play only until 2014 before calling it a day.

The German international stated that his reasoning to play until 2014 is because of the World Cup which will be held on that year, so Klose’s plan is staying with the Biancocelesti until that time arrives. Having an interesting goal scoring record in the World Cup, it’s obvious that Klose is still hoping to get another chance to play in that competition despite of his veteran age, which pretty much the reason why Bayern Munich decides to let the 33-years-old- leave on a free transfer to Biancocelesti this summer.

If all goes well, I hope to play until 2014 with Lazio, appear in the World Cup and then end my career,” he told Kicker. Who knows me well is aware that the World Cup is my objective,” Klose added.

Having already scoring some important goals this season, especially that winning goal against Roma, Klose undoubtedly has now become one of the fans favorite and should things remains the same until the season ends, there’s a big chance that the German international will fulfill his dream in staying until 2014. Although the striker has already reached the 33-years-old mark, he still being given plenty chances by German national team, Joachim Loew, because the veteran can still provide the goals needed.

Klose himself actually almost missed out on featuring at the Rome Derby last Sunday, because picking up an injury during his preparation with the German national team. Fortunately, the veteran striker apparently managed to recover right on schedule and even provide the important winning goal for his team, which marked Biancocelesti’s victory against Roma after failing for quite sometime now.
