News from Corrie Dello Sport the Italian sports daily, Juventus have signed Edzin Dzeko from Wolfsburg for 30 million Euros but will only join the Turin side in June of 2011.
The Dzeko transfer saga has been one long battle pitting Juventus and rivals AC Milan this past year however, it appears that the Bianconeri emerged victorious.
Surprisingly former Juventus player Diego was used as part of the deal. Diego left the Turin outfit this summer after an unproductive 2 year stint. Diego was sold to Wolfsburg for 20 million Euros however, the Bundesliga club have only paid half the amount.
Also included in the deal is Mohammed Sissokho who will be sold for 10 million Euros. Juve will then pay the remaining 10 million to complete the deal.
There is no doubt that the Bosnian hit man would be a very worthy addition to Juventus. His record in the Bundesliga speaks for itself. However, Juve need him more now than next season.
The Bianconeri are starting to move up the Serie A table but its still only early days in the league. Sunday’s barren draw with Inter Milan was the first step in their long road to re-asserting their dominance.
Just to clarify things, these are only reports. There is no official news from both clubs. However, Dzeko has always wanted a move away from Germany and with this opportunity having presented itself, it is believed the 26 year old will not want to miss out on it.
