According to Gianluca Di Marzio), Juventus’ interest in the young midfielder has materialized into something that could mean another talented Italian coming to the Italian champions.
Juventus continues to try to add prospects for the future. The bianconeri’s most recent target is Genoa midfielder Rolando Mandragora who is currently on loan at Pescara. Mandragora is considered the best prospect born in 1997 currently playing in Italy. Juventus has an agreement in principle with Genoa to acquire him, now they need to convince the player and his agent Vincenzo Pisacane. There will be a meeting between the parties in the upcoming days. There are many clubs other than Juventus pursuing the player including Paris St. Germain, Liverpool and Manchester City.
Mandragora, is currently on loan at Serie B side Pescara where his performances in front of the back four have impressed scouts. The Napoli born youngster made his Italy U21 debut during the summer and played five times for Genoa last season.
A product of the club’s youth system, the midfielder made his first appearance for Il Grifone against Juventus last season and could join Massimiliano Allegri’s side having played well during his loan spell.
Mandragora has made 16 appearances for Pescara this season, with the club sitting fourth in the league. However, suitors will be wary of his disciplinary record with eight yellow cards already this campaign.
The Italian has drawn comparisons with his compatriot Marco Verrati who plays for Paris Saint-Germain. Mandragora managed a passing accuracy of 81% in Serie A last season for Genoa and looks to be a bright part of Italian football’s future.
