Didn’t make an significant signing in the summer transfer window this season, Inter Milan are being seriously linked with some interesting players in January considering the short depth they currently have in the squad.
The latest player that is being rumored could be wearing the blue and black shirt next winter is Wolfsburg’s Andrea Barzagli, who reportedly will be swapped with the misfit Sulley Muntari.
According to Gazzetta delo Sport, Muntari who has been caught in a little bit dispute with the Nerazzurri because hasn’t had lots of playing time in this early part of the season, will most likely leave in January and Wolfsburg won’t be a bad destination for him. The player who was rumored to walk out from the stadium in Inter’s last league game against Juventus has also been linked with plenty premier league clubs especially Tottenham Hotspurs, however considering the fact that Inter can have Barzagli instead, the Italian giant wouldn’t hesitate on it.
Barzagli himself will have his contract expires in June, so there’s a good chance that Wolfsburg would accept Inter’s offer in January and get a player for exchange instead of loosing the player next season for free. The main consideration for the German club would be based on whether they really need Muntari’s service or not, as Steve McLaren’ squad doesn’t have money issues and won’t be difficult in purchasing other players without making a swap deal.
Should the deal can really happened next winter, it might really give more advantage for Inter considering the fact that this season they have an aging back line on their squad with most of their first team center back are on their 30s. Barzagli’s arrival could really add depth to their defender options especially if they lose their two main center backs, Lucio and Walter Samuel, who are bound to get some injuries with the hectic schedule Inter are having.
Aside being linked with Barzagli, Inter are also rumored to make bids for several other players in the winter to fill in some of the post that are lacking depth such as the attacking midfield, Striker and wing back positions. Some of the famous names that recently have been closely connected with the treble winner are the likes of Ricardo Kaka, Rodrigo Palacio, Gareth Bale and also Taye Taiwo.
