Genoa’s unique method in doing transfer keeps on flowing as after they already released Rafinha and Kevin Prince Boateng, the Griffone are ready to part ways with another popular name, Domenico Criscito.
The news regarding the potential defender’s departure was revealed by the club’s president, Enrico Preziosi, who stated that the player has been staying in the club for quite a while and moving away next summer is the best option for a talent like Criscito.
Preziosi, who last season simply blocked Criscito’s potential moves to two Italian giants, Ac Milan and Inter Milan, seems to understand that a talent like the Italian international can’t be kept forever especially if the player have a chance to improve his career with bigger teams. However, the president is still unsure which teams that would be serious in acquiring the Italian international as he rules out Napoli’s interest for the player.
The boy will certainly leave, “He’s been at Genoa for some time and it is only right that he moves on to a different club. A switch to Napoli? It has been discussed, but I don’t see a great amount of interest from the Azzurri for Mimmo. As far as I am concerned, I am ready to negotiate and people know where I am,” Preziosi said.
This latest decision from Preziosi certainly will make the transfer market gets exciting anymore and it would be interesting to see on whether clubs such as Inter and Ac Milan are still keen on acquiring Criscito this summer, considering the two clubs supposedly have signed other players on that position. The Nerazzurri have already signed, Yuto Nagatomo from Cesena last January, while the Rossoneri have recently snapped Taye Taiwo from Marseille. However, Criscito is also known for his ability to play at center back, a versatility that might still raise his name for those big clubs.
