Emre Can has welcomed the impending arrival of Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, describing the Wales international as ‘a champion’.
Ramsey has penned a four-year deal with the Italian giants worth around £400,000-a-week and joins in the summer when his deal at Arsenal runs out.
Can, who himself swapped the Premier League for Serie A last season when he left Liverpool for Turin, believes the Wales midfielder is an astute addition.
Speaking to Tuttosport, Can said:
‘If he has played for Arsenal for all these years and has scored so many goals, then it means that he’s a champion.
‘I have been up against him a few times, and he has always impressed me. He will be a good arrival for us.
‘Really, the club is like a big family. The locker-room spirit is also similar to what I had experienced at Liverpool, but I really like it here at Juventus, because it’s not just a set of champions. The sense of a team, the group, is strongly felt.’
The 25-year-old Can admitted he found the first few months of life in Turin difficult but was backed to succeed by Giorgio Chiellini.
‘The training sessions here are very tough’ Can said. ‘It’s very different (to England).
‘I struggled at the start, but then Chiellini reassured me that it’s very normal. He said: “Emre, the first months will be very hard, but then you’ll fly”.’
