Inter Milan striker Diego Milito says that he is itching to return to playing after months in rehabilitation.
It so not a coincidence that Inter’s season started to fall apart right around the time that Milito suffered a cruciate ligament injury, and Inter fans will be pleased to know that the striker is getting close to fitness.
“I’m continuing my comeback and getting better all the time, I really want to get back playing” Milito told the Inter Channel.
“I really want to get back to 100%, after a number of months out I’ve got great desire and I’m already going beyond my programme. I’m working hard and I really benefited from my time in Pinzolo and here in the US.”
Milito went on to talk about the impact that new boss Walter Mazzarri is having on the club:
“Right from day one the coach asked even us guys who are coming back from injury to follow his tactical instructions and this is very useful for us.
We’re working very well and the team is on the up. We lacked a bit of flair in the early matches but that’s natural in pre-season. We’ve definitely moved forward from a tactical perspective though. We’ve got a nice mix of forward players, youngsters and more experienced guys.
But let’s not place too heavy a burden on the young lads, we’ll let them develop. Icardi and Belfodil are the future of Inter and I still want to play my part.
We’ll go far, as high up the table as possible, I’m confident, when you play for Inter you always need to aim for the top.”
