Despite having some uncertainties regarding his future at Juventus, Brazilian midfielder Diego still showed his professionalism on the pitch as he was shining at the Trofeo TIM tournament.
The quality that the former Werder Bremen player’s showed raised the voice of Juve’s new coach, Luigi Del Neri, who warned his team’s management that selling the 25-years-old player would cost the lost of extra quality for the team’s performance.
“He is at the centre of a transfer situation that can evolve positively or negatively. But he knows that we have great faith in him and the important thing is that he proves he deserves to stay and wants to stay,” Del Neri stated to the press. “Certainly, if he continues playing like this then he is someone who gives us the quality we are otherwise lacking.”
Just as it was reported earlier, Diego is currently on the verge of returning to Germany after two Bundesliga outfit, Wolfsburg and Schalke already placed a bid for the midfielder. Reports also claimed that Juve’s management have already agreed with those clubs offers and currently allowing them to negotiate personal terms with the Brazilian international.
However, seeing from the Turin giant’s performance in the triangle game against Inter and Milan, it is very obvious that Diego still offer something more for the club. The 25-years-old arguably the only spark that drag Juve’s game as it can be seen from the match against Milan, how he’s the source of the Bianconeri’s every attack, not to mention scoring the equalizer in that 45 minutes match.
Comparing to what Juve performed in the first game against Inter, where Diego was not played, there’s certainly a serious gap of quality as the Nerazzuri simply looked like the better side and have a strangle hold in the midfield. The creativity of the Brazilian midfielder is simply what separate the Bianconeri’s team that face the treble winning club and the one that play against Milan, this kind of quality is surely something that would be missed should the playmaker left Turin.
In the end everything will be decided by Juve’s board, whether they are sure that loosing Diego for the chance in getting either Krasic or Bastos would be the best solution for the club or not. Surely no one can predict the future, but if even Del Neri still has faith in the Brazilian’s quality, the management should give another shot for the 25-years-old to stay in Turin at least for another season.
