AC Milan have made a formal offer of £3 million for Queens Park Rangers midfielder Adel Taarabt, as the Italian giants look to make the Moroccan’s loan spell a permanent one.
Taarabt spent the second half of last season at the San Siro and is not keen on a return back to west London, as Harry Redknapp prepares his side for life back in the Premier League.
The explosive midfielder was left out of the club’s tour to Germany last month and is surplus to requirements at Loftus Road. AC Milan have been on the 25-year-old for some time, but wanted the R’s to lower their asking price for the Morocco international, a request the club have now obliged.
Taarabt has entered the last year of his contract and with his wages at £65,000 a week, Redknapp is keen to get him off the wage bill. Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani is planning to meet Taarabt’s representative, Kia Joorabchian, tomorrow according to reports to finalise a deal.
