Udinese Want £44m For Sanchez

The price keeps going up as Udinese have told Barcelona and Manchester City that if they want to sign Alexis Sanchez it will cost them £44m (€50 million).

Sanchez is arguably the most sought after player in the world at the moment, with Barcelona, Manchester United and Manchester City all interested in the player. And that competition has allowed Udinese continue to play hardball with the price.

“If Barca want him, they have to pay his fair price, which is €50million (£44m),” Udinese president Gianpaolo Pozzo told AS. “He is the piece missing in Guardiola’s puzzle, a player who makes the difference. You do not have to see it as an expensive transfer, since I am sure Madrid will not win anything next year if Barca sign him. I am sure this alone is enough to justify his price. That is the math they should do, besides thinking they will be signing a rising star just 22 years old who will bring much joy for at least a decade.”

While Sanchez prefers to got to Barcelona, €50 million is out of the price range that Barca can play. The European Champions have been trying to offer a mixture of cash and players for the winger, but Udinese are holding out for cash. And that gives Man City the advantage as they have all the cash in the world.

“The truth is that Manchester City are making an offer which is more generous that that from Barcelona. This is not going into a fight, but if Cesc is worth €40 million and Neymar and Sergio Aguero €45 million, I say Alexis Sanchez is worth €50 million. Since I am the one who puts the price, well, that’s what it is.”
