Just getting into the early stage of the season, As Roma already felt the negative aspect of tight schedule caused by the Euro 2012 qualifying round as they will lose their defender, John Arne Riise who was injured during his international duty.
The left back reportedly suffered a head injury while training for his country Norway in their preparation to play against Portugal on the Euro Qualifying round. Riise got the injury after coming off worse in an aerial duel against his own teammates Espen Ruud and was sent for immediate check up at hospital after the incident.

Having been left out from the Italian national squad that plays in the Euro 2012 qualifying round doesn’t seem to be a bad thing for Marco Borriello as it gives him time to prepare with his new club, As Roma.
Staying in Roma for the International weeks, left Borriello the time to practice and get to know his teammates more just before the Giallorossi’s upcoming match this upcoming weekend.

As Roma’s new signing, Marco Borriello, made the headline after making a surprising switch from Ac Milan to the capital club just few hours before the transfer window closed despite being heavily linked with Juventus not long before that.
Revealing his decision to the press, Borriello stated that one of the main reasons he choses to play for the Giallorossi instead of Juve was because the persuasive text message send to him by Daniele De Rossi.
“I said no to Juventus because I am a sensible person and when I heard the President speak and I read the text message from De Rossi which gave me goosebumps, I immediately accepted,” Borriello said. “He text me to tell me to come here and ended with ‘we are going to win’.” Read more... One of the longest transfer saga in the Serie A has finally ended after As Roma have finally find an agreement with Inter Milan to sign their whole summer target, Nicolas Burdisso.
According to the media in Italy, the Argentinian player have finally been brought to Roma with a fee around 8 million that will be paid in three installment.
This purchasing have been waited for a while by Roma especially their coach,Claudio Ranieri, who is a keen admirer of Burdisso, surely the official signing would give a boost for the club that will start their season later today against Cesena. Earlier this week, Ranieri was already pessimistic about the opportunity in acquiring the player that the Giallorosssi loaned from Inter last season. Read more... Adriano’s plan to start against his former club, Inter Milan, in the upcoming Italian Super Cup match is in doubt after the latest report from Italy stated that the Brazilian striker will probably be benched for that game.
Reports claim that Giallorossi’s coach, Claudio Ranieri, is very disappointed with Adriano’s current showing in training and would consider to bench him against Inter.

Money isn’t everything in football, that’s what probably Inter Milan’s defender Nicolas Burdisso had in mind after reports stated that he would only choose Roma as his destination despite having bigger offer from Juventus.
Burdisso who was loan by Roma last season, look set to stay at the capital club permanently this season and leave his current owner, Inter, that doesn’t really have any intention in keeping him. It looks like As Roma’s plan in strengthening their squad next season has hit a stumbling block after their plan in purchasing Nicolas Burdisso’s from Inter Milan isn’t heading for the right direction. Reports from Italy suggested that both teams still fail in agreeing the fee for the Argentinian as Inter won’t seem to budge from their 10 million Euro price tag while the Giallorossi only wants to give 6 million for the versatile defender. The course could set to change for As Roma after the latest news in Italy suggesting that the capital club could be changing owners soon as the Sensi family have been offered to let go of the team by a banking firm UniCredit. The Sensi family, who have been leading the club for about 17 years owes the firm 325 million Euro, so now UniCredit offers a solution in order to clear out the debt, which is asking Rosella Sensi and co to sell their assets including Ill Lupi. Having a co-ownership deal can give some disadvantages for clubs, especially when the loose a talented player because of blind auction and that’s what pretty much happens to AS Roma after they loose half of the contract of talented Italy youngster, Marco Motta.
