SuperMario Scores Twice On Milan Debut

Mario BalotelliMario Balotelli lived up to the hype, at least for a week, as he marked his Milan debut with two goals, one of which was a hugely controversial penalty with the last kick of the game
last-minute penalty which secured a 2-1 AC Milan victory.

For his first goal, El Shaarawy got to the by-line down the left and pulled back for Balotelli to control and smash an angled drive that bounced off the ground past Padelli.

After Giampiero Pinzi levelled up the match, it looked as though Balotelli and his team-mates would have to settle for a home draw. That was until El Shaarawy was awarded a soft penalty decision.

El Shaarawy burst into the box and Heurtaux appeared to make a clean tackle, but the referee pointed to the spot.

Naturally, Balotelli stepped up to take it with the final kick of the game and scored, side-footing it to send Padelli the wrong way and confirming his career status of never having missed a penalty.

Earlier, Juventus went three points clear at the top of the standings thanks to a 2-1 victory at Chievo. An early strike by Alessandro Matri was followed by a second just before the break from Stephan Lichtsteiner, before Cyril Thereau reduced the arrears in the second half. New signing Nicolas Anelka was an unused substitute for Juventus.
