The 2015-16 Serie A fixture list was drawn up on Monday, starting with Fiorentina v Milan, Verona-Roma and Juventus-Udinese. The ceremony was held at the Expo centre in Milan and the season runs from August 22 2015 to May 15 2016.
It is an unusually early start by Serie A standards, brought forward to help Italy prepare for Euro 2016. There will be midweek rounds on September 23, October 28, January 6, February 3 and April 20.
This season has Carpi and Frosinone, making their absolute debuts in the top flight, along with newly-promoted Bologna.
The campaign opens with a special game for Sinisa Mihajlovic, whose Milan visit Fiorentina.
There are already some huge games in the opening weeks, as in the second round there’s Roma v Juventus and in Week 3 the Milan Derby.
Napoli also visit Empoli on the weekend of September 13, the first time back for Maurizio Sarri and Mirko Valdifiori.
Must See Games
The Derby d’Italia is one of the most ferociously contested fixtures in Italian football, and after active summers for both Juventus and Internazionale, this fixture will command added intrigue. The matches will take place on Gameweek 8 (October 18) at the San Siro and Gameweek 27 (February 28) at Juventus Stadium.
Another match between two eternal enemies is the Rome derby, which sees Roma take on Lazio. And after these sides finished second and third in the table last season, respectively, the games between the two will have much more on them than local bragging rights. The clashes will take place during Gameweek 12 (November 8) and Gameweek 31 (April 3) at the Stadio Olimpico, where both teams share a ground.
