Lazio Set Sights On Dynamo Kiev's Artem Milevski

Having a pretty good season so far in the league, Lazio are keen in improving their performance next summer as reports from Italy suggested that they are already eying an important player to join them for the upcoming season. The latest name that reportedly being targeted by the Biancocelesti is Dynamo Kiev’s star striker, Artem Milevesky, who has also attracted several big clubs in the past including another Serie A giant, Ac Milan.

Rumors about Lazio’s affection towards the Ukranian international comes from Milevsky’s agent, Aston Astajev, who revealed that although he hasn’t informed his client about the Biancocelesti’s interest, Astajev does confirmed that the Italian club are keen on the striker. Moreover, the agent also stated that his client has a big crush for Italian and Spanish leagues as the Ukranian has already rejected contacts from English clubs in order to fulfill his dream.

“For now, I haven’t spoken to him about them personally, even if I know through intermediaries that they(Lazio) are interested in the player.” Astajev stated. “He has been contacted by Newcastle and Liverpool, but the player turned down these clubs because he dreams of Spain and Italy. “

Being considered as one of the best strikers in the Euroa League, Milevsky reportedly is worth around 12 million Euro, a sum of money that could well still on Lazio’s reach especially if the Aquile managed to get into the Champions League next summer. Considering his position, Milevsky is surely someone they could need up front as at the moment the Biancocelesti doesn’t have anymore quality and experienced center forward aside from Sergio Floccari, who has been injured a lot.

Their lack of quality up front is pretty much evident this season as Lazio can’t keep up their pace with the likes of Ac Milan, Inter Milan and Napoli to race for the Scudetto despite leading the league table in the early part of the season. At the moment, the Aquile are focusing themselves in the competition to secure the last position for the Champions League, competing with several quality teams such as Udinese, As Roma, Juventus and also Palermo.
