Another surprising twist in the Italian Serie A transfer market occurred as Lazio officially confirmed the signing of Brazilian talent, Hernanes, from Sao Paolo.
The Biancoceleste’s success in acquiring the 25-years-old player’s signature is somewhat of a shocking news for football fans as the Brazilian international previously was heavily linked with bigger clubs such as Ac Milan and Inter.
Reports from Sao Paolo’s official site stated that Hernanres has signed a five year contract with the Italian team and will join his new teammates right after he finishes his international duty for Brazil. Despite confirming the deal, the Brazilian club aren’t willing to share any more details regarding the transfer fee required by the Biancoceleste to purchase their important act.
“The game against Internacional, on Thursday, was the last for the midfielder Hernanes in the Sao Paulo shirt. The player agreed transfer terms with Lazio of Italy, and will have a contract there for the next five seasons,” read A statement on Sao Paolo’s official site.
With Hernanes’ signing, Lazio would surely hope that they can have a much better campaign than last year where they were forced to battle hard at the bottom half of the table rather than at the top of the league. The Brazilian who has been highly regarded as one of the most exciting player in the country, would add more quality to the capital club’s midfield area so they can compete in Serie A this season.
Hernanes’ arrival at the club doesn’t seem to stop Lazio in getting new ammunition for their midfield area as rumors in Italy and Englad stated that they are also pushing hard to sign Kevin Prince Boateng from Portsmouth. The capital club’s persistence in getting new quality mid fielders could also be the sign that they will about to loose Christian Ledesma, who has been heavily linked with a move to Milan.
