While Inter are in Istanbul for their preseason friendly with the Turkish giants, the Nerazzurri will be also trying to close a deal for defensive midfielder Felipe Melo.
Melo wants out of Istanbul and wants to move to Inter, but with Inter president Erik Thohir refusing to sanction any more money on transfer fees, the club had had to get creative with its offer.
According to the influential Ntvspor, Galatasaray wanted midfielder Gary Medel in a straight swop, but Inter said no. Instead they countered with Saphir Taider, Juan Jesus, Dodo and Nagatomo and told Gala to pick one.
The Turkish paper are confident that the deal will be completed by the end of the week and of that is the case then Inter’s front office deserves a special reward if they can land Felipe Melo for someone like Taider or Dodo. In most parts of the world, that would be called robbery.
Unsaid is whether Inter actually need Melo? With Medel and Geoffrey Kondogbia, does Inter really need another defensive midfielder?
What do you think of Melo? Will he make Inter better?
