The Lega Calcio has released the attendance numbers for the first ten games of the 2010/11 season and Inter are by far the best supported team.
Average Home Attendance by Team (top 5)
Two things struck me about Inter’s numbers. One is that the gap over AC Milan is really significant. The second, is that Inter leads Serie A not only in average attendance, but also in playing to capacity.
Attendance as % of Capacity
- Inter – 79.13% (80,018 capacity)
- Juventus – 77.39% (27,994 capacity)
- Palermo – 70.51% (36,822 capacity)
- Cesena – 67.50% (23,929 capacity)
Overall attendance is up in Serie A this season with an average gate of 24,574, compared to 23,200 in 2009/10 and 23,828 in 2008/09
