Inter And Milan Swap Pazzini For Cassano

The two Milan sides, Inter and AC have swapped strikers with Antonio Cassano moving to Inter and Giampaolo Pazzini moving to AC. Inter also got  around €7m in cash as part of the deal.

Cassano says he’s realised a dream after completing a move to Inter,  the team he supports.

“After an eternity, I have arrived at the club which I support,” Cassano, who was a known Beneamata supporter as a boy, told Inter Channel.

“It’s important for me. It doesn’t get better than joining the club which you are a fan of. I have re-found my smile.”

Former AC Milan player Francesco Coco is surprised by Milan’s decision to hand over cash as well as Antonio Cassano to Inter for Giampaolo Pazzini.

“It would have been fairer without the money,” Coco, who left Milan for Inter in 2002, told Radio Mana Mana.

“Milan are the losers here because they have to put their hand in their pocket. It’s a swap deal which is totally in Inter’s favour.”

Have to agree with Coco on this deal, which seems very lopsided in Inter’s favour. Pazzini was a good striker, but that was two seasons ago. So to give up Cassano and €7m and increase their wage bill makes no sense to me from a Milan perspective.

But then again, nothing that AC Milan has done this season makes any sense. Massimiliano Allegri has gutted the side this summer, releasing a lot of veterans while selling their two best players. It is a bold gamble by Allegri and if it doesn’t pay off, it will cost him his job.
