Milan And Ronaldinho Reach An Agreement

Here is some good news for all Milan fans. Ronaldinho will remain with the Rossoneri for another season. Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani has also stated that a new deal to keep the play maker at the San Siro for longer is close to completion.

In what had become a tussle for his sensational skills involving clubs from some of the world’s major leagues, the 30 year old seems set to stay in the fashion capital for at least another year. However, before you pop open the champagne bottles, there is also some little bad news.

Best wedding cake dolls ever.Florentino Perez is an overbearing club president and the Real Madrid figure head has been accused of building teams based on what he thinks will work for Los Blancos; rather then what he actually knows will work.  In other words the owner is attracted to footballers by their name on paper and how many tickets and jerseys they can potentially sell by joining Real Madrid and sometimes the owner overlooks team players, like Wesley Sneijder, due to his desire to make a big publicity splash by acquiring the rights to more well known names like Kaka. 

Serie A players in strike threat

Players in Serie A are threatening to go on strike for the Serie A opener on August 29 unless the winter break is extended.

The winter break is scheduled to begin on December 22 and end on January 5th, but the players’ trade union, AIC, wants those dates extended. The players say the 20th does not give players enough time to travel home for the holidays, while ‘Kings Day’, which is celebrated in Spanish countries, and Orthodox Christmas, fall on January 6 and 7 respectively and so the players should not have to report back until January 9th.

 

Juventus Eyes Adebayor As New Target

The press in Italy claims that the Turin giant are eying Manchester City’s striker, Emanuel Adebayor, as their new target for next summer.

Lazio Captain Rocchi Stays With Club

Controversial Lazio skipper Tommaso Rocchi is set to remain with the club after President Claudio Lotito revealed that despite attracting interest from Genoa and Palermo, the striker is determined to continue with the capital club.

Lazio is traditionally considered as of Italy’s strong club’s, however, le Aquile have experienced a difficult few seasons  in the league climaxing last summer when a number of their stars decided to call it quits and look for greener pastures.

Francesco TottiFrancesco Totti recently made a few controversial statements regarding Serie A’s officiating and the former World Cup champion expressed his lack of trust for the league’s officials and hinted that not much had changed since the 2006 max fixing scandal that saw several teams severely punished for the following season‘s action.

Totti believes that Inter Milan gets the officiating edge from the league when the two side’s face off. And the Italian legend and Roma man made this statement regarding the potential corruption in the Italian league and their alleged favoritism for Inter Milan and other powerhouse squads:

The Rossoneri’s defense were pretty much to blame for the two goals that the serie B team managed to score in the first half through Buzegoli and Cellini, despite dominating the possession the 7th time Champions League winner just unable to break down Varese’s defense.

Roma for sale for 150 million euros

Francesco TottiRoma are up for sale for 150 million euros, according to reports in Italy, after one of the club’s creditors took up the option to find a buyer.

Gazzetta dello Sport claimed that the Sensi family, who have owned the three-times Serie A champions for 17 years, will have to sell the club after their other main business fell into the hands of banks two weeks ago.

Roma, who were surprise runners-up in Italy last season, have struggled with financial troubles for the last few years due to problems with president Rosella Sensi and her Italpetroli oil company.

Juventus Beat Lyon 2-1

Cometh the hour, cometh the man. Juventus captain and club icon Alessandro Del Piero inspired the Bianconeri to a 2-1 friendly win over French champions Lyon on Saturday. The Turin outfit went down early in the first half when Giorgio Chiellini unfair play in the 6 yard box resulted in a penalty for Lyon.

Ederson successfully converted to put the visitors in the lead. In similar fashion, on the 26th minute, Juventus were handed a penalty after a Amauri was brought down in the penalty area. Del Piero stepped up to score his 199th goal for the Bianconeri.

Blanc Lays Down the Law

Maillot géant équipe de FranceNew French national team coach Laurent Blanc recently hinted that he would be mixing things up in the French camp following that embarrassing rift that occurred at the World Cup between the players and coaching staff. And the French coach suggested that many important members of that squad would potentially be removed from his selection due to their negative involvement in the situation that escalated this summer. And the new French coach even joked that he felt like he was heading to the guillotine due to his unfortunate timing of taking over the beleaguered squad.
