Cassano Flying To Milan?

Antonio CassanoAn interesting development regarding Antonio Cassano’s future occurred just few hours after the tribunal decided that the player should stay in Sampdoria, according to Italian media the troubled player will sign with Ac Milan soon.

Although there hasn’t been any official announcement from all parties but the press believes Cassano has agreed terms with the Rossoneri and will soon leave the Blucechiarti and join the fashion capital side.

Sampdoria forced to keep Cassano

In a ruling that nobody expected a Serie A arbitration panel has ruled that Antonio Cassano has to remain a Sampdoria player after they stopped the club from tearing up his contract.

Sampdoria have been trying to get rid of Cassano for a couple of months since he insulted chairman Riccardo Garrone. A host of Serie A teams were lining up to sign Cassano once he was freed from his Sampdoria contract, but the panel’s ruling put an end to that idea.

Serie A Players To Go On Strike

After their earlier planned strike was averted, Serie A players have once again stated that they intend to go on strike on the weekend of December 11th and 12th.

The strike will mainly be used to address disputes concerning player’s contracts. The Vice President of the players union confirmed the strike. The September strike was called off to allow for negotiations with the Italian Football Federation.

However, talks have hit a snag. Speaking to reporters Mr. Leonardo Grosso Vice President of the Associazione Calciatore Italiana (ACI) ( the players union) said that no common ground had been reached by the tow parties.

Juventus Knocked Out Of Europa League

Italian giants Juventus bowed out of the Europa League after a 1-1 draw away to Lech Poznan. After failing to qualify for the Champions League this season, the Bianconeri were hoping to go one better in Europe’s second tier club tournament.

If it isn’t bad enough that Juventus lost to a little known Polish team, the Bianconeri’s chances of winning some silverware this season just got slimmer after their shock elimination.

Juve coach Luigi Del Neri regreted the many chances his side failed to convert.

Cassano Offers Apology And Blames Domestic Issues

First it was Fiorentina’s Adrian Mutu who was forced to apologize after his late night altercations with a waiter now Sampdoria’s Antonio Cassano has done the same offering club president Riccardo Garrone an apology after their burst up left Cassano’s future with club in doubt.

Sampdoria had already considered terminating Cassano’s contract after the pair were invovled in a heated exchange at the club’s training grounds. The genesis of the argument arose when Cassano refused to attend an award ceremony for the club.

However, speaking to the press, Cassano blamed his actions on the stress from his personal life.
