Among other big teams in Serie A, Juventus have been the most active in the transfer market thus far by grabbing five new players to help their course in challenging for serie A’s top spot next season. Juventus Brazilian midfielder Felipe Melo proved just why he was voted Serie A’s worst player for 2009. Melo was part of the Selecao’s World Cup squad that was bundled out of the tournament in the quarter finals for the second consecutive time.
As you would expect, fans are not taking that defeat too well. One fan in particular, told Melo not to return to Brazil for holiday. Three time world player of the year and record world cup goal scorer Ronaldo Nazariao da Lima wrote on his twitter account that Melo should come back to Brazil for holiday.
Arriving last summer with such a high expectation as the player that will lead Juventus back to its glory days, things just went wrong for Brazilian midfielder Diego Ribas as he fail to impress or lead the Bianconeri even for a Champions League spot. The former Werder Bremen unable to impose himself under two different coach, Ciro Ferarra and also Alberto Zacherroni although both tacticians have tried to integrate the player on their formations.
Juventus are continuing their fast paced market for next summer by tapping on more candidates to wear the black and white shirts next season, beside the players that the club have signed, the Bianconeri have targeted several players in one fundamental position, which is full back. After disappointing performances by their full backs last season, it looks like the Turin based club are very determined to improve that position by eying some of the hottest property at this moment such as, Marco Motta, Taye Taiwo, Nadir Belhajd, Michel Bastos and the latest Fabio Coentrao.
After having such a dreadful season, Juventus are looking very serious to reshape their squad next season as after getting a new coach and technical director, the Turin club looks to be the most active Serie A teams in the market so far. After acquiring Simone Pepe, Marco Storari, plus the two latest inclusion Leonardo Bonucci and Jorge Martinez, the Bianconeri are still keen in getting more players as soon as possible due to their early TC next summer.
It looks like 2010 won’t be a
year that Juventus’ number one keeper, Gianluigi Buffon, would like to remember as his recurring back injury has forced him not only to take an early exit at the world cup but also to miss out on the first part of the upcoming season. The Italian shot stopper, has confirmed that he most likely won’t be playing in remaining of this year because he will do a surgery to resolve his injury, the 32-years-old revealed that he won’t be back until next year.
I have decided. I’ve had enough of living with this uncertainty, so I will have surgery,The operation won’t be immediately, but in 2011 I’ll be back as good as new. To be honest, some transfer rumours should remain just that, rumours! The latest reports doing the rounds suggest that Juventus players David Trezeguet and Mauro Camoranesi are destined for fashion capital Milan to join the Rossoneri.
Now, before your heart falls to your stomach, ( i.e. if you are a Milan or Juve fan) let me clarify and say that the probability of this happening is zero, zilch!. Not only is this absurd, but it is also very unrealistic. Although weird transfers have happened in the past, this will not be one of them.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger should prepare himself for the difficult season ahead. With inspirational captain Cesc Fabregas publicly stating that he can no longer be a part of a team that only plays attractively and fails to win titles, and towering defender Gallas set to complete his transfer to Turin club Juventus any time soon, the Gunners chances of winning silverware seem to be fading quickly with each day.
French player William Gallas had one of his worst tournaments in a Les Bleus jersey in the on going FIFA World Cup in South Africa after their campaign ended before it even started. Drawing 0-0 with Uruguay and Losing 2-0 to Mexico, left France with little if any hope of progressing through to the second.
Not only being the place to see exciting games from great footballing nations, the World Cup is also the stage for players to showcase their abilities to attract many clubs. It looks like the same kind of story will happen for Juventus and Diego Forlan as reports suggested the Italian giant is keen to brought the Uruguayan talisman after watching his impressive performance at the World Cup.
