Diego Lashes Out At Juventus

by Philip Mboya on September 3, 2010

Juventus former Brazilian forward Diego is another player to hit out at his former club for what he terms as ‘huge mistakes’. The Over rated Brazilian failed to live up to his billing in Turin since his move from Weder Bremen last summer.

Diego signed for Wolfsburg for 15 million Euros days before the transfer window ended. He will now join Juve’s most sought out summer target Edin Dzeko in attack for the Bundesliga giants.

Many Milan fans are very excited that Galliani and Berluscni have finally heard their pleas and cries and signed players who could win them trophies. There is no doubt that the Rossoneri are looking very strong on all fronts this season, however, before writing off other teams, it is important to note that Inter Milan, Juventus, AS Roma and the chasing pack of Napoli, Palermo, Sampdoria Fiorentina, Genoa and Lazio won’t yield the title to Milan or any other team for that matter without a fight.

Juventus Start Season With Loss

by Philip Mboya on August 30, 2010

For all the money Juventus  spent in the summer transfer window, you would not have been wrong to think that they would potentially be a serious challenger for the title this season. The Bianconeri bought some very talented players in the run up to their opening league fixture yesterday however, it all proved futile as they did not get the result they were seeking.

Yes, this might only be the first match of the season but you have to remember a first impression leaves lasting memories. It is not a coincidence that fellow big spenders Real Madrid also drew their opening match despite spending massively on players this summer. Manchester City did not fair well either losing 1-0 to Sunderland. There is a trend that has to be identified.

juve_jpg_661381gm-aAfter having an unclear and complicated future, finally Diego Ribas ended his courtship with Juventus and officially went to Wolfsburg earlier this week.

Despite feeling relief that everything has already being clear up, the former Werder Bremen star still has something to say for the Bianconeri’s management that decided to sell him.

Speaking at the press conference, Diego explained that he never wanted to leave Juventus and felt sorry for the fans that still supported him despite his poor first season with the Bianconeri.

2010/11 Serie A Preview

by Philip Mboya on August 27, 2010

The Italian Serie A season gets underway this weekend after a 3 month break with some very mouth watering fixtures key among them being the Udinese v Genoa, Fiorentina v Napoli and Sampdoria v Lazio matches.

This will however not be like any other previous season as the strategic buying that most clubs employed means that the league will be more competitive than previously thought. A good example would have to be Juventus.

While Inter still remain as favourites to repeat their epic treble, the Bianconeri cannot be ruled out especially after acquiring some very talented players. Milos Krasic, Simone Pepe and Leonardo Bonucci are just a few of these players.

Grazie DavidThe future of David Trezeguet in Juventus once again takes another twist as after earlier this month things seems to goes well and he would probably stay in Turin, this days reports stated that the striker is surely leaving the club.

Trezeguet’s agent, Antonio Caliendo, was the one that confirm that with the player’s exclusion from Juventus’ squad that will be facing Sturm Graz today it can be confirmed that the former Monaco striker will leave.

La Liga Duo Benzema and Ibrahimovic Linked To Serie A

by Philip Mboya on August 24, 2010

The two players who cost Spanish club’s Real Madrid and their arch rivals Barcelona a combined 81 million Euros may be leaving La Liga after only 1 season. Karim Benzema and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are rumoured to be heading to Juventus and Milan respectively.

The Ibrahimovic links come as no surprise as the Blaugrana are keen on disposing off the 29 year old who had a less than impressive debut season with the champions, however, the Benzema transfer could be worth keeping an eye on.

Real’s new coach Jose Mourinho is expected to make drastic changes at the Bernabeu which could see players like Kaka, Benzema and Diarra struggle for regular playing time.

Juventus Lifts Trofeo Berlusconi But Ronaldinho Shines

by Dewa Nugraha on August 23, 2010

[champions] Chelsea x Juventus : 21Juventus take their revenge on fierce rival Ac Milan by beating the Rossoneri at the Trofeo Berlusconi last night via penalty shoot out after both team fail to score a goal in 90 minutes.

The Bianconeri should be thanking Milan’s Thiago Silva for their success as the Brazilian international defender was the only player who missed from the spot.

Despite loosing the game, Milan looked a bit better than Juve which were probably thinking more of their upcoming Europa league second leg match next midweek.

Juventus Beat Milan To Clinch Berlusconi Trophy

by Philip Mboya on August 23, 2010

Juventus beat AC Milan 5-4 on penalties last night to clinch their first Berlusconi Torphy in 5 years. The Bianconeri were not impressive and neither were Milan however, they now lay claim to some silverware and a tinge of confidence ahead of their trip to Bari next weekend for their maiden 2010/2011 Serie A match.

I will not review the match, however, i want to touch on an aspect that will definitely be a talking point for most of the season if the Rossoneri do not address it immediately.
