Ac Milan keep their throne at the top of Serie A untouched for at least another week as after they picked up an important victory against home team, Cagliari, this Thursday thanks to a goal by their young player, Rodney Strasser.
This game also marked the debut of the Rossoneri’s new signing, Antonio Cassano, who also play apart on the goal as he was the one that set up Strasser in the penalty box after making nice passing moves with Robinho.

Aside from the plan to get a replacement for Fillipo Inzaghi in the market, reports from Italy stated that Ac Milan are still seriously considering to get Cagliari’s midfielder, Andrea Lazzari, who could now be set as Ronaldinho’s replacement.
Lazzari, who was one of Allegri’s trusted midfielder during the tactician’s time at Cagliari, has already been linked with a move to the fashion capital since the summer, however back then the Sardinian club refuse to part ways with the Italian international. Lazio continue their reign in the Italian Serie A table after successfully grabbing a 2-1 victory against their opponent Cagliari this Sunday at Olympico, Roma.
Two latest Italian international, Stefano Mauri and Sergio Floccari were the ones responsible for the Aquile success by scoring the goals that take the capital club 2-0 for a while before Alessandro Matri pulled one back to make the match more interesting. Italian Serie A top scorer Samuel Eto’o scored the only goal in Inter’s 1-0 win over Cagliari yesterday to take them joint second on the table with city rivals AC Milan.
However, the match was not without any incidents as the referee threatened to stop the game due to racist chants aimed at the Cameroonian international. Not that it dint matter but Eto’o who by now is used to such treatment, did what he knows best and responded by scoring a sublime goal. Read more... Milos Krasic scored a hat-trick to give Juventus their first win of the season and move them up to 9th place in the Serie A table. Juve’s other summer signing Loenardo Bonucci also got his name on the score sheet in what was a convincing victory for under fie coach Luigi Del Neri.
Playing at home to Cagliari, Juventus were seeking to erase the painful memories of their 3-1 mid week loss to Palermo at the same venue. Del Neri was obviously disappointed with loss and offered his apology to the fans who thought that the Bianconeri would win their first match of the season. Read more... The Italian Serie A season gets underway this weekend after a 3 month break with some very mouth watering fixtures key among them being the Udinese v Genoa, Fiorentina v Napoli and Sampdoria v Lazio matches.
This will however not be like any other previous season as the strategic buying that most clubs employed means that the league will be more competitive than previously thought. A good example would have to be Juventus.

In a strange piece of news, Cagliari surprised everyone yesterday with the announcement that they had sacked Massimiliano Allegri.
“Cagliari announce that they have relieved Massimiliano Allegri of his position,” said a statement on the club website. “Academy coach Giorgio Melis has been put in charge.”

Cagliari Calcio is usually a club on the brink of relegation. In the last three seasons, Cagliari has barely been able to fend off opponents finishing 14th, 16th, and 14th respectively. All three years the Rossoblu have survived demotion to Serie B by a few matches and in some cases just a few points. This year though Cagliari transitioned from a mediocre bottom of the rankings club into a top ten finisher.
