Football returned to Italy on Saturday and there were goals galore as Inter Milan hit five against Parma and Siena stunned ten-man Lazio with four unanswered goals.
Inter moved to within a point of Lazio as they continued their resurgence under Claudio Ranieri. First-half goals by Diego Milito either side of Thiago Motta’s strike helped the Nerazzurri on their way to a fifth successive league victory, which was settled beyond all doubt once Giampaolo Pazzini had made it 4-0 early in the second half. As Roma fans’ hope in seeing Diego Lugano arrived at Olympico this winter looks to be nothing more than a dream especially after the player’s agent, Alessandro Lucci, revealed that his client will not be moving away from his current club, Paris Saint-Germain.

Marco Borriello’s slight hope in getting a call up for the Euro 2012 after his move to Juventus simply rises again after the Azzurri’s tactician, Cesare Prandelli, promised that he will give an attention towards Borriello at Juve.

Being transfer listed by his club, Juventus, and hasn’t been given playing time since the start of new season, didn’t shut down clubs’ interest on Carvalho Amauri as after the likes of Fiorentina, Parma and Palermo, reports claimed that As Roma is also lurking.

Serie A co-leaders Juventus have signed Marco Borriello on loan from AS Roma until the end of the season and have the option to make the move permanent in the summer for around €8m.
The 29-year-old Borriello scored eleven goals for Roma while on loan from AC Milan last season but after joining Roma permanently during the summer he has struggled to win a regular role under new coach Luis Enrique, starting only two league games.
While Juventus are still unbeaten in Serie A and level with AC Milan on 34 points at the top of the league, they have often been wasteful in front of goal and with striker Milos Krasic out of favour they have needed another striker.

Having an inconsistent run in their early Serie A matches, both Inter Milan and As Roma looked to get themselves together just before the Christmas break as the two closes the year with comforting victories.

Juventus’ affection towards As Roma striker, Marco Borriello, hasn’t evaporated as just yet after the latest reports in Italy suggested that the Turin giant are considering their option to acquire the wantaway forward.

AC Milan returned to the top of Serie A thanks to a 2-0 win over Cagliari at the Stadio Sant’Ella Stadium, in what was a rearranged fixture from the first week of the season, where the whole schedule was postponed because of a players’ strike.

Receiving another criticism after failing to lead As Roma beating Juventus last Monday, Francesco Totti once again retaliated his thread of quiting the capital club especially if he is no longer needed by the Giallorossi.

Juventus still maintain their unbeaten record in the league this season but they received a very close call at Olympico when the home team, As Roma, failed to steal a victory after Francesco Totti missed a penalty kick.
