Amauri Targets 20 Goals This Season

Amauri'Despite hasn’t been able to get a constant playing time this season due to various injuries, Juventus striker, Carvalho Amauri, still has a very high ambition this season by aiming to at least get 20 goals for his club.

The striker believes that as soon as his condition reached its top level, the target that he has set up will definitely be fulfilled this season.

“I am aiming at 20. Now I feel better. The fundamental thing is finding fitness again. I can’t wait to recover my best form,” Amauri told Sky italia.

The striker also stated that he would like to start his scoring spree on Juventus’ upcoming match in the Europa League against Salzburg next Thursday. Amauri also added that last season was very difficult for him as he felt lots of pressure to do well considering the fact that he was dubbed to be the main striker for the Bianconeri.

“I hope [to get back on the scoresheet] on Thursday against Salzburg because it’s fundamental. Last year was the most difficult that I have been through in Italy. When you play for a great team, in a club with a great tradition like Juventus, everyone always expects you to score goals, Amauri said. “I suffered a lot last year, much more than you can possibly imagine. This year I am calmer and this gives me the motivation to try and do something new.”

It will be interesting to see how would Amauri managed to fulfill his goals this season as the striker hasn’t really make lots of improvement in terms of performances compared to last season. Injuries still becomes the former Palermo striker’s main obstacles in showing his worth to the fans that have been very critical towards him since last season.

Should Amauri still fails to deliver the goods this season, his career at the Italian giant might not be that long especially since Juve are really serious in getting more strikers in the next transfer window. This condition will surely give more pressure for the Brazilian born striker who will need to quickly regain his goal scoring touch before the winter transfer window arrives is he wants to keep his spot at the Bianconeri.
